Our team lined up with six riders at the Umag Trophy (UCI 1.2) in Croatia, marking our first race of the season. With a strong international field and fast racing expected, the goal was clear: use the race to find our rhythm and work together as a team.
From the start, the pace was high and positioning in the peloton was crucial. The race was controlled for most of the day despite a few attacks, and our riders stayed attentive and worked well together throughout the race.
Unfortunately, our original plan for the finale was disrupted when Amalie crashed in the last roundabout. Just as she finished the lead-out 400m to go she crashed, which made the remaining two loose a bit of the momentum. Liv and Tabea were boxed in 200m to go, but still managed to make a Top10 result.
Despite this setback, the team still delivered a strong result. Liv sprinted to 8th place, followed by Tabea in 10th and Linda in 11th. Nela and Jenni
fer also put in solid performances and finished safely with the main bunch.
Overall, the Umag Trophy was a valuable first race for us. It allowed the team to get back into race mode, build confidence, and gain important experience for the upcoming competitions.
Next up: Poreč Trophy (UCI 1.2) on Sunday, March 8.
