The Poreč Classic Ladies marked the second race of the season for Team Tirol Women Cycling, with the riders Linda Sanarini, Liv Wenzel, Belinda Holzer, Ramona Grießer, Tabea Huys, and Franziska Ehrenreich lining up at the start.
The race covered 107 km over five laps on a fast and demanding circuit. The approach to the finish was particularly high-speed, with the final 3 km featuring several roundabouts, making positioning crucial before the 500 m uphill sprint finish.
The race became animated already in the second lap, when numerous attacks were launched. However, the peloton stayed attentive and the Tirol Women Cycling riders reacted well, ensuring that no dangerous breakaway could establish itself.
As expected, the race intensified heading into the final 3 km, where the pace increased significantly and the fight for position became very hectic due to the technical run-in with multiple roundabouts.
In the uphill sprint to the line, Liv Wenzel delivered a strong performance to finish 4th, narrowly missing the podium. Linda Sanarini followed with a 6th place, while Tabea Huys rounded out the Top 10 in 9th place.
Once again, the team showed a strong collective performance, similar to their solid ride at the Umag Ladies race on Wednesday. With confidence from these results, the team is already looking ahead to the first race of the austrian road cycling league in Leonding in two weeks (22nd of march).
