Respect Ladies Race Slovakia (UCI 1.2) – Victory for Tabea Huys and Outstanding Team Performance

The Respect Ladies Race Slovakia (UCI 1.2) in Nová Baňa turned into a highly successful day for Team Tirol Women Cycling. With an impressive victory and all five riders finishing inside the top 15, the team delivered one of its strongest collective performances of the season.

The 96.3 km race was aggressive right from the start, with numerous attacks shaping the opening half of the race. However, the high pace in the peloton prevented any breakaway from gaining a significant advantage. Throughout the race, our riders stayed attentive, well-positioned, and ready for the decisive moments.

The race was decided on the final ascent of the Kostivrch climb. Freshly crowned Austrian U23 National Champion Tabea Huys launched the decisive attack, and only last year's winner Sofia Ungerová was able to follow. Together they opened a small gap over the chasing group and headed towards the uphill finish.

In the final sprint, Tabea showed her strength and perfectly timed her effort. With a powerful acceleration on the uphill finish, she left her rival behind to claim a brilliant victory, securing another UCI win for Team Tirol Women Cycling.

Behind the leading duo, the team continued to impress. Liv Wenzel won the sprint of the chasing group to finish in an excellent 3rd place. Amalie Cooper crossed the line in 9th, Belinda Holzer finished 12th, and Nela Kankovska completed the outstanding team result in 15th place.

Having all five riders finish inside the top 15 highlights the exceptional depth, teamwork, and consistency of Team Tirol Women Cycling. Tabea Huys' victory, combined with the outstanding performances of the entire squad, made the Respect Ladies Race Slovakia one of the team's most successful races of the season.
