The Tirol Women Cycling Team lined up on home soil for the first time on March 22, 2026. The entire team—Amalie Cooper, Franziska Ehrenreich, Belinda Holzer, Jennifer Pesendorfer, Tabea Huys, Liv Wenzel, Ramona Grießer, Linda Sanarini, and Nela Kankovska—showed themselves at their very best.

In the opening race of the Austrian Cycling League over 86 kilometers, our UCI Continental Team presented itself in excellent form right from the start. A highly competitive, international field of riders ensured an intense and selective race from the beginning. The pace remained consistently high, with numerous attacks shaping the course of the race.

Our team delivered a cohesive and very active performance. All riders consistently positioned themselves in the front group and remained alert to respond to the many moves from the competition. Thanks to smart race awareness and strong teamwork, we were able to be present in all decisive situations and actively shape the race.

The team also demonstrated strong sprinting ability, performing well in the intermediate sprints, collecting valuable points, and keeping the competition under control.

In the third lap, a large breakaway group formed, with five of our riders represented. Through their collective effort, they were able to establish a significant gap to the rest of the main field.

In the final lap, the race intensified once again: the frequency of attacks increased, and the field became increasingly selective. Our riders tried to cover every decisive move and kept the pressure high all the way to the finish. Through teamwork, one of the two breakaway riders was caught again.

In the end, the effort paid off: Tabea sprinted to a strong 3rd place, thereby also taking the overall lead in the Road Cycling League in both the elite and U23 classifications. In addition, Liv was awarded the prize for the most active rider of the race for her aggressive riding style.

A successful start to the national league, which impressively demonstrates the unity and strength of our team and builds excitement for the upcoming races.

With this result, we are highly motivated heading into the next race of the Road Cycling League in St. Marein Feistritz (April 12, 2026).
