RCL Gaisberg & Austrian Mountain Championships 2026

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, Tirol Women Cycling lined up for the RCL Gaisberg, which also served as the Austrian Mountain Championships. The race featured around 700 metres of elevation gain, with a demanding climb deciding the race.

Belinda Holzer, Ramona Grießer, Franziska Ehrenreich and Tabea Huys represented the team, starting shortly after the men’s and junior races.

Setting the pace from the start

From the very beginning, Tirol Women Cycling took control of the race. Our strategy was clear: keep the pace high from the start and reduce the size of the peloton as much as possible.

The plan worked perfectly. The consistently high pace quickly reduced the field. After a flatter section, the riders faced another steep ramp, where the main group had already been reduced by around half.

The decisive section came in the final two kilometres, where the road climbed at an average gradient of around 12%. Belinda Holzer attacked together with one competitor and managed to establish a decisive gap over the remaining riders.

Belinda finishes second

Belinda successfully defended her advantage all the way to the finish and secured 2nd place in the overall race classification. Her result also moved her up to 2nd place in the RCL individual overall standings.

Tabea Huys delivered another strong performance, finishing 5th overall. She also claimed 3rd place in the Austrian Elite Championship and, at the same time, secured the Austrian U23 title.

Ramona Grießer completed the strong championship result by taking 3rd place in the U23 classification.

Another team classification victory

The team performance was also rewarded: Tirol Women Cycling once again won the RCL team classification.

The Gaisberg therefore proved to be another successful race day for the team, with a podium finish in the overall race, strong results at the Austrian Championships and another victory in the team classification.
